If you are adding an Office 365 Exchange account to your Sony Xperia Z1, Z2 or Z3 and it isn’t syncing your Contacts and Calendars it may be because it hasn’t detected the correct settings.  To resolve this issue you may need to enter the settings in manually instead of letting it automatically detect the account settings.

Steps to Sync a Sony Xperia with Office 365 using Manual Settings

  1. Ensure that any existing Office 365 accounts are deleted from your phone

Create a New Exchange Activesync Account

  1. Click on Applications
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click on Add Account
  4. Select Exchange Activesync
  5. Enter your email address
  6. Enter your password
  7. Click on Manual Configuration
  8. For Username enter your email address
  9. Re enter your password
  10. Under Server Name enter m.outlook.com
  11. Delete any information under Domain
  12. Click on Next and accept any warnings

If you have been successful you will see that the next screen shows Email, Contacts, Calendar and Tasks with check boxes for syncing.  Once you’ve finished adding in the account wait a couple of minutes before checking if your Contacts and Calendars are syncing correctly.
